Wow, first off, happy October! Its finally feeling like fall and I couldn’t be more excited. Am I ready? Yes, but I need more clothes *SAID EVERY WOMAN IN THE WORLD* lol Give me a reason to get something new, and I’m all over it. Anywho that’s not why I’m here. Today we’re going to go back and talk about recreating your looks, not your favorite influencers’, but your very own fits.
I’ve preached this over and over since day one (Aug 29th, 2015 to be exact), and honestly, I will die on this hill. After last week’s FATshionTipTuesdays tip, I had to follow my advice for a photoshoot. I am a firm believer in getting as many looks out of the clothes in your closet, but what about that look you know you look delicious in whenever you wear it? But wait, you wore it five weeks ago at your friend’s party and even took pics in it. What will you do? I have that answer. Wear that whole look AGAIN! Who gonna check you boo? If you feel like you have to switch the accessories gon’head and do just that. A few adjustments can make a huge difference. Here are a few examples!
Initially, with this look, I wore it to work with my Sam Edelman puff sneakers for comfort and kept it pushing. Since that day, I’ve worn the shirt (tunic) multiple times, but never with this look; that changed recently.
With a quick change of shoes and a wig, we have a whole different vibe, but the same look.
The stripes in this look make a statement all by itself, wearing these boots indeed complete the entire fit.
I would have never worn this top with the dress if I didn’t give it a chance while I was getting ready for work that morning. It’s now one of my faves that will eventually get worn again and again.
What I want you to do this week is go on your IG and find a look you’ve worn before and love, then wear it at some point this week. I want to see you finesse. Add an accessory that’s different or not. Wear a wig like me. I don’t care. The choice is yours; I want you to slay. Plus, you want the vibes to be oh so right.
Now don’t get me wrong I love having new items to add into my closet, but I’m learning that it’s not necessary to get something new every time I have somewhere to go. Leave those funds for a happy hour lol
