Favorite Looks from September

30 days of puttingthatsh!t on. On the weekends, I was very chill. I might have stepped a few times, but I did my best work Monday-Friday. Let me show you.

The first week of September, there were a few repeats and test fits that I have either tweaked a little bit or will get to it this month. It was something about the 7th that started it off. I didn’t want to come into work, but I had to at the last minute. Instead of letting my attitude linger into my fit, I put on my good bra, a beautiful dark lipstick, and my hair was cut into a bob (and my goodness, that changed everything) so I was feleing myself a little bit.

The fit was simple, but the details were the things that made the fit work for me. By the time I left, I wanted to be seen.

Two days later, I brightened everything up by wearing green and orange. I was mainly inspired by the carrots that are currently taking their precious time growing in my garden.

I got a feeling that they will be small, but nothing about me is 😜 I wore a Lauren by Ralph Lauren orange short-sleeve top with a STAPLE ruched skirt from Morgan that I have worn multiple times in different ways. I called myself an upside-down carrot cake the entire day lol.

The next day one of the residents in the building called me a chocolate-covered strawberry. Was I wearing red and brown? No, but trust that color combo is on the list for this season.

I wore a pink fitted top and a brown skort. The earrings brought the fit together because of the color mixing and matching. What I liked the most was how it showed off my waist peeking out. The videos of this fit are so much better. Just know I felt extremely cute.

That cuteness carried into the weekend when I went to brunch with one of my friends. I love Olivia and how she makes me feel the minute I put her on. This time I wanted to do something different and style the dress how my teenage self would. I was always wearing a skirt over my pants, so why not a dress?

I’ve done it before but it’s been ages, and that day it felt right. The bottom hem of Liv is slightly sheer. Majority of the time, I don’t care and wear my nude short shorts under it. Sometimes I don’t 😜 The setting of the brunch spot and how I was feeling made the final decision. And it was the right one!

I tried a few things the following week, and it made me realize that a shopping trip is in my future.  Pants are the most important thing to me right now when it comes to my style. I said this before but never really had the opportunity to do it. I no longer want jeans/pants just because they’re in my size. I want good quality pieces that will carry me from work, afters, and the weekend. Once I start finding those pieces, you’ll be the first people to know all about it.

Fall hit us hard with no warning. It had the nerve to rain too so it was extra fall. I wore my old Bennett crewneck over a white button-down with some jeans. Very college Jonice coded.

The same weather continued and I wore the coziest fits I could. Not really my favs but I made it work for the office.

Simplicity is delicious to me. If I can look as good as I feel, then the fit is complete. That saturday proved it. The sun finally came out so I showed a little skin.

I wore SOACG’s new sweats with a ripped-knit cropped sweater with a cropped jean jacket, and my light pink Nike Air max shoes.

Sunday, I went to the Commanders’ home opener game. Of course it rained all day, but that wasn’t stopping us from showing up and having fun.

I wore my Commanders crewneck with army fatigue pants and an oversized Carrhart jean jacket. We won the game in a BELT TO A$$ fashion which was the cherry on top.

I ended the month by joining a yoga class at a local cannabis club and had a blast! I wore pink because it was Wednesday, IYKYK.

I loved the spot the minute I walked in because everything in there, and I mean everything was pink. I felt right at home.

There’s a lot already changing for me. A lot of it happened today. I was so stressed throughout Septemeber. I just hope and pray that this month will be 10 times better. I honestly can’t wait to see how my style continues to evolve and how life will continue to grow for my good.

See you in the next one

Xoxo, Jonice 💋
