Earlier this month, I talked about how many things have changed or were in the process of changing. And now that we have made it to the end of the month, everything is moving full speed ahead. For the last couple of weeks, I have been trying to put this new puzzle together. New schedules and positions have flipped my whole life upside down… in the best way possible.
With the new schedule, I have been shifting things around, moving what used to fit on the end of my day to the next. It’s still an adjustment, but if I stick to the new routine, I can definitely make a few things shake without a problem. But I can honestly say I was struggling in the beginning.
I lived for spontaneous happy hours, dinner for me and a few homegirls at 7 that turn into a sensational Tuesday or Thursday night out. She doesn’t live here anymore. If my Friday night is left to meeting up with everybody who’s already way ahead of me, I’ll show up and ready to play catchup. If not, I’ll go home and decompress from the day.
Even my attire shifts with everything else. 9-5 meant business, but I kept it casual. Now that it’s the complete opposite, I’m learning what that looks like for me. I’m also not coming into the building with the “I’m here to handle business and go have fun” dress or set lol. My main goal is to be stylish and not lazy. Layering will be very evident as the day turns to night sooner and it gets cooler by the second. A couple of looks this month have been so good to me.

To the point where I want to leave the house because I look and feel good—even if the residents are the only ones who will see me. At the end of the day, I truly do this for me.
With all that’s going on, I’ve also been trying to find time for me. Raising my parents is not for the weak lol. Keeping SOACG relevant is a major priority, to say the least. Being a social media (manager) baddie, amongst other things, has my plate full—but who am I to complain when this is what I asked for? Nail appointments are back on schedule, and that’s a huge start. I’m glad I can be every woman, because it’s truly all in me, but I’m a girl who also sometimes wants to depend on somebody else.
May the next month be the month where everything shifts quickly & suddenly—in your favor!
See you in the next one.
Xoxo, Jonice 💋
