What Have I been Wearing?!

As I mentioned in the last blog post, I have been on the moves. I attended a rosé fest, a few concerts, something in the water, and just been out whenever I could. I’m the type of person who likes to get a new outfit for these events. I’m also the type to put something together that I already have. Let’s say I did a little bit of both of them. Did I look good? Absolutely, without a doubt. Did I break the bank? Not at all. Today I’ll show you what I’ve been wearing and where I got everything from. Shall we begin?

The third concert of the year felt like it took forever to get here. I ordered these tickets MONTHS in advance, so I was ready!! When April 16th rolled around, I was beyond excited. Why? First, it was Lucky Daye’s concert. Second, I had a VIP MEET AND GREET TICKET! If you know me, you should know that Lucky Daye is bae around here. Because I had a meet and greet ticket, I had to ensure the fit, was it! And it was. I revamped a look I wore in Vegas.

I just switched the original shorts I wore for our Daisy Fringe shorts, some platform converses, and accessories. I felt good because I knew I looked good. I got a few pictures with Lucky and complements. Just know it took me a minute to come down off that high. Lowkey, I might still be up there, lol.

On Mother’s Day weekend, my family and I traveled to Virginia for my mother’s graduation. It was the perfect time to pull out two dresses I had been dying to wear.

At the first ceremony, I wore the Hanifa Alia Maxi Dress, and baby, I did what needed to be done. I gave flowy and elegance. At the graduation, I continued with that elegance by adding sexy by wearing Zelie For She’s Disco Dreams Dress. The ruching on the side allowed me to adjust the length of the slit, however short or long I wanted it to be. The prints in both dresses were the moment of each day. As a black woman, it felt good to wear these beautiful pieces that black women made. I said it that weekend, and I will repeat it, it’s going to be a black luxury kind of summer for me; food, experiences, clothes, and so much more.

I’m not the only one who loves getting new clothes for an event. It was no different for this year at Célébrez en Rosé. Everyone had to wear pink, white, or both. I told myself that if I didn’t find anything I loved, I would wear the same dress at last year’s Célébrez en Rosé Festival. Let me say it was indeed a struggle. I went to so many stores, and it felt like I tried on everything in my size in each store, and I came up short. It was the day before the festival, and I was frustrated that I couldn’t find anything I loved.

That was until I went to old faithful Rainbow and got the cutest solid pink tank ribbed knit bodycon dress. I ONLY spent $13 on that dress, and it felt amazing. If you can tell by these pictures, look again! This shows that you don’t have to break the bank to feel good 25/8. If you like it, it’s in your size and well within the budget, then baby, I love it!

I also had the time of my life at Something In The Water. I only attended two days out of the three day festival but watched the third day from home due to my feet killing me and I had a afterparty to go to. The two lewks I served were simple, but it was comfortable and that is all that matted to me.

If you been loving what I have been wearing lately then baby you are going to enjoy what I will be wearing this weekend at……….. ESSENCE FEST!!! Baby, this is a move that I have been praying to make, and it is finally my turn. By now, my girls and I are likely getting ready for today’s festivities. If you want to see just a peak at how everything will unfold, then keep your eyes on me. The lewks will definitely be me, and if you’ve seen me in the fit before, I know I look good, so I had to run it back.

Wear what you want; however, you want, because who will stop you??!
Enjoy your weekend because I know I am!
Be safe and have fun.
Xoxo, Jonice 💋
