I’m a Nasty Gal

I never thought I would say this out loud, I’m a Nasty Gal! Its nowhere near what (some of) you may be thinking about lol.

You’ve probably have heard about this store before the book ‘Girl Boss’ or even the show on Netflix. If you’ve been living under a rock, let me get you hip real quick.

Sophia Amoruso is the HBBIC (Head Boss Babe In Charge) when it comes to any and everything Nasty Gal. She started selling vintage clothing on eBay when she was only 22 years old, and it took the world by storm! Nasty Gal is now worth 250 million dollars! If you want to get into the nitty-gritty of her journey I recommend the book before the movie.

Anywhoooo lets get into why we’re here. I never thought I would buy anything from this store. When I first heard about them they didn’t have anything, and I mean anything in my size. I wasn’t surprise because around that time the plus size community barely had anything, buy my my my have times changed. The plus sizes that they offer are in their own section ‘Sizes 0-20’ (FYI: size 20 UK is size 16-18 US) Make sure to switch regions so you can have the right size. What pulled me in was the sale they were having during the time (check today because I’m sure there’s a sale going on as well). Of course, I didn’t break the bank like what I wanted to but I still got some great pieces for under $40. The shoes I got were more than the dress.

Remember how I did some forecasting of the trends you’ll be seeing this year? Neon was definitely on the list and is taking over so far. I can guarantee that this trend will be here for a long time, well into fall and winter. As of right now, it’s still too cool to pull out all your summer clothes, but you can transition pieces like this with ease. Wear this dress anywhere; happy hour, shopping during the weekend, the club, wherever!!

I love that this dress is stretchy and lightweight. Most long sleeve dresses can be too thick and have you ready to have a heat stroke in the middle of the day when it reaches 65. Nobody has time for that especially when it still gets to the low 30s at night. Throw on a jacket of your choice that will add to the look and not downplay it so you can continue slaying the day away. The white sneakers not the wave for your next move? A pair of sandals, snakeskin print strap heels to keep up with the trends, or a matching neon heel will suffice.
