Miami Baby 🌴

As you all know I recently returned from an amazing trip to Miami Beach, Florida. After seeing the wild videos from recent spring breaks, I didn’t know what to expect. I was going down there with an open mind and plans to have a good time. If you’ve been keeping up with me on IG, the pictures really do no justice.

I landed in Florida mighty early (8 am). I was TIDE because I didn’t want to be late for my flight or have any problems so I got to the airport the around 4:30-5 am. The moment I checked in the hotel I not only wanted some food, I desperately need something. So, of course, I got tacos off jump. To be honest, all I really ate while I was down there was tacos, burgers, and wings. Depending on where you wanted to eat the food could get expensive. The few places I recommend you try out if you ever go to Miami are Clevelander, Mango’s, Ocean’s Ten, and Burger and Shakes.

Clevelander had a cool vibe. The fact that it is an outside bar made it even better. With it being on the strip, it’s like an ongoing party everywhere. They definitely have popping drinks and great food. Katrina, my bartender, kept the drinks coming all night long. I sat right at the bar which gave me a good view of the strip so I could people watch, and boy did I. The sights are pretty amazing.

I ended up at Mango’s after a day on the beach the next day. It’s literally right next to Clevelander. I was hungry, slightly drunk (thank you Fat Tuesday’s), and ready to get out the heat. It is located right on Ocean Drive where the main attractions really are. The food and drinks can be expensive but are worth every penny. You even get live entertainment while you enjoy your food. So when I say its worth every penny, I mean it.

The mango bbq wings (above) are delicious!

Bre, my other bartender, was the perfect host! Since I didn’t know where to go out that night, she opened up her home to me and we went out! I HAD A BALL OKUUURRR, but I noticed that once 1 am rolled around I was ready to go back to the hotel.

Ocean’s Ten is another location on Ocean Drive that has great food as well. I was on a hunt for a happy hour deal, but of course, they weren’t exactly my kind of deals. At this restaurant, they did have a certain deal that caught my attention. The first drink you order is on you, but the second one is on them. At each place, I spent roughly $40. It’s not bad but if you eat on Ocean Drive every day, it will add up, so spend wisely.

Since I didn’t rent a car while down there, the free trolley and uber pool were my best friends that week lol. Don’t feel like waiting for the trolley? Then uber everywhere shawty! *Whispers* I used uber pool because its better than paying $13-$15 each trip for a solo ride.

but anywho….

If you’re not planning to be on Ocean Drive every day there are plenty of well-known places to eat in the surrounding areas. Burgers and Shakes just happens to be one of them. They stay open late and were right in my budget! I only paid $12 for a burger and fries. It’s such a cute corner storefront restaurant. With limited sitting inside, the outside sitting is probably even better. Just 2 blocks from North Beach you’ll be able to enjoy the breeze and view.

If I wasn’t eating, I was on the beach. I don’t get to often since I live in Maryland, where the weather doesn’t know if its spring or still winter.

But these swimsuits….hunny! gorgeous!

To be honest, that’s all I truly wore while I was in Miami. It’s too hot to even think about wearing any kind of tight jeans or pants for that matter. Pack all the shorts, dresses, crop tops…all that. Miami is the place to be basically naked lol SHOW SOME OF THAT SKIN GIRL! WALK AROUND IN THE SWIMSUIT ALLDAY LONG! who needs clothes when they’re in Miami?

I purchased these swimsuits from Pink Plastic! I’ve been following them for a while but never took the time to purchase anything because I barely go out. I knew the moment that the flight had been booked, I needed to really step out and show off. These suits were intimidating to me at first. They literally sat in my shopping cart for about 2 weeks before purchased them. The cut of each suit was completely out of my comfort zone, but I wasn’t about to let that stop me. When they finally arrived and I tried them on, I knew I was ready. Nothing else mattered to me. I was going to be seen and I must say I DID THAT!

Whether you’re going to Miami for relaxation or business, be ready to spend your money wisely, eat good, drink, and have some fun. No matter where you go on vacation have it up!

I don’t know when my next vacation is but I’m ready for another one. any suggestions, drop them in the comments below.

P.S. Having strangers take your pictures isn’t that bad lol

See you in the next one

Xoxo, Jonice 💕
