Continue with your routines. Show up even when you don’t want to. Even if you don’t feel your best. Somebody is waiting for you. And if you feel like nobody is, then you are waiting for you.
I know this seems so cliché, but it’s true. On those days when I felt like my outfit wasn’t its best, somebody did. This was a fact during the animal print is neutral week; where I challenged myself to wear animal print everyday. Turns out I had more than I thought as I digging through my clothes to put looks together. Every day present me with something different. My favorite day was the first picture below. That’s when I truly felt like myself. I had been wanting to create this look for some time but never had the scarf to do so, but now I do. I was proud of myself so much that it made me want to go even harder as the week went on. Those days led me to a few days when I didn’t want to go out, I had the best time. Sometimes the outfit is so good you have to go out and be seen.

Working out still has its days, but next month I’m making it my mission to show up for myself in that area like I’ve been showing up everywhere else in my life. I have my routine written down and in plain sight so I see it every day. I can’t avoid it if it’s in my face 24/7. My OG routine was perfect a few years ago. I would pass my gym before I got home from work so I couldn’t deny it — that’s why it was so easy to show up. But now that I don’t have my membership anymore and the gym is in the comfort of my room, I’ve been slacking. But that changes in the morning.

Our 11th anniversary is coming up. Many people have asked if we are celebrating with our annual pool party, but this year I’ll be celebrating by myself — not because I don’t want to celebrate with y’all. It’s a lot of things happening all at once, and adding the party to my plate would have been too much. It hurt to come to this conclusion because I want to celebrate SOACG with YOU! Believe me, I’ll be somewhere after work, even though our anniversary falls on a Monday.
Leading up to that day I’ll be reflecting on what we have accomplished over the years just so when the pieces that I designed are launched, we’ll continue to grow in ways I’ve never imagined. Nonetheless, I will be showing up for all of us.
As June rolls in, I’ll ask you this: What will the next month teach you?
See you in the next one
Xoxo, Jonice 💋
