What Has May Taught Me?

Continue with your routines. Show up even when you don’t want to. Even if you don’t feel your best. Somebody is waiting for you. And if you feel like nobody is, then you are waiting for you.

I know this seems so cliché, but it’s true. On those days when I felt like my outfit wasn’t its best, somebody did. The days when I didn’t want to go out, I had the best time.

Working out still has its days, but next month I’m making it my mission to show up for myself in that area like I’ve been showing up everywhere else in my life. I have my routine written down and in plain sight so I see it every day. I can’t avoid it if it’s in my face 24/7. My OG routine was perfect a few years ago. I would pass my gym before I got home from work so I couldn’t deny it — that’s why it was so easy to show up. But now that I don’t have my membership anymore and the gym is in the comfort of my room, I’ve been slacking. But that changes in the morning.

Our 11th anniversary is coming up. Many people have asked if we are celebrating with our annual pool party, but this year I’ll be celebrating by myself — not because I don’t want to celebrate with y’all. It’s a lot of things happening all at once, and adding the party to my plate would have been too much. Believe me, I’ll be somewhere after work, especially because our anniversary falls on a Friday! Nonetheless, I will be showing up for all of us.

So my question for you is, how will you treat June instead of how will June treat you?

See you in the next one

Xoxo, Jonice 💋
