SOACG8: Net-Breaking Blessings

Eight years is a long time. I’ve been given the chance to do more than I could’ve ever imagined. Today I reflect on the very beginning of SOACG, but I also think about what it’s taken to get here.

There have been days and nights where I felt like I was on top of the world when it came to doing the work, then there were days where I just wanted to call it quits. I say this all the time, but it’s true. I am glad I have been through all that and then some because it has landed me right here with you. God knew that we would be in this position, it was already written. I want to keep doing the work that He wants me to do with SOACG. I will keep writing out our story because there’s more work to do. I want to experience what God has for us, even when it looks hard.

My mother sends out motivational text messages in our group chat almost every morning. It was something about the last one she sent out that stuck with me, and I want to share it with you. It’s called Net-Breaking Blessings.

Luke 5:5 – But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word, I will let down the net.”

When Jesus told Peter to launch out into the deep waters and he’d catch a great haul of fish, it went against all of Peter’s professional fisherman logic. It didn’t make sense in the daylight hours, but when Peter obeyed Jesus’ word, his nets were so full of fish that they started to break. It’s simply a matter of God putting the fish, the provision, the healing, and the good breaks, right where you need them even though they weren’t there before.

Is God asking you to do a hard thing? Don’t talk yourself out of launching out into the deep. You can’t reach the fullness of your destiny without net-breaking obedience. If you take that step when it’s hard, you’ll see God show His greatness in your life. When you pass that test, you will come into moments that thrust you into your purpose. If you could see what’s on the other side of that obedience, the joy, the favor, the victory, you wouldn’t put it off. The question is, will you have net-breaking obedience?

Prayer for today: “Father, thank You for the dreams and desires that You put in me that are bigger than I can achieve. It looks too big for me, nevertheless, I know that with You all things are possible. I believe that when I launch into the deep, You will bring me net-breaking blessings. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

& that is all I want as we step into our 8th birthday, net-breaking blessings. SOACG looked too big for me to start back in 2015, but God knew it was the thing that would make room for me. I want to go deeper and bigger by His means and His alone because it won’t just be for me. This brand is for you and me. My work though SOACG will continue to make moves, help people change how they see themselves, and be a plus-size woman’s favorite blog to read and favorite boutique to shop at. Eight is the year we will get those net-breaking blessings.

As always, thank you for riding with us
I am honored to be here
honestly, truly
xoxo, Jonice 💋
