For weeks now, you’ve probably noticed a few things changing on our social media. And trust, it’s only the beginning. Why the change? With the rebrand happening, I could not wait to roll out this logo. We’ve grown, and it’s only right that everything else gets a facelift, too.
This new logo makes me so happy and proud. It truly embodies us becoming who we’ve always seen ourselves as. Our last logo carried us through so many seasons, and I’m grateful for it. But this? This feels different. I feel the same excitement I felt when I got our old logos back…just times ten. I know this is a major shift, especially because I’m designing now, but it’ll be real once I see it on tags, clothing labels, and all our merch. I’ve already cried about it, but I know as time goes on and we start showing out, I’m going to be hysterical lol.
Do you see it?! OMG I can’t stop smiling lol. There are truly no words for this feeling. I mean, there are, but I can’t seem to find them. When I think back on everything SOACG has been through, the tears just won’t stop (believe it or not, I’m crying as I type this).
And before you ask: Did I make this?
HELL NO lol…let’s be for real. I’m creative, but I had to be a big girl and ask for help. If you know me, you know that is extremely hard for me. But this year, God has had me asking for more help than I ever have, so I knew this was alignment.
I found 8th House Studios while scrolling on IG. I was looking at a flyer for a party I was going to, and they had the artist tagged. I did my research immediately and fell in love with their work. I saw they’d be taking new clients soon, but I couldn’t wait for the link to open. So I emailed and prayed for the best. When Christine responded and was excited about working with us, I just knew this was going to be good. We had our meetings, got to work, and when she sent everything back… you guessed it, I cried again. It felt like she heard everything I said and gave us a look that fully represents us. To be seen and understood made this whole experience refreshing. It truly lit a fire in me.
Now let’s get into the details, though. Idk if you’ve peeped it, but let me break it down:
Each letter in SOACG is embedded within the symbol…a nod to our name, our story, and the evolution of who we are. All woven into one unified mark.
CHRISTINE AND CHYNA’S MINDS ARE INSANE & I LOVE IT. My thank yous and appreciation will never stop.
Once I get the studio back in shape, I’m going to play around with a few things…just to see how creative a girl can get with the Cricut and heat press.
