Putting Those Fall Colors To Work

I mentioned in my last post that I wanted to start incorporating some of this season’s colors into my everyday looks. From work to nights out, I’ve been mixing in shades like Crown Blue, Mauve Wine, Damson, Chili Oil, and of course my go-to blacks, browns, and grays.

Last month, I went out to celebrate one of my friend’s birthdays at Everyday Ppl. I took it as the perfect chance to play around with color. I immediately reached for my favorite mini pleated skirt (Mauve Wine, of course).

Normally I’d pair it with black, but I wanted to switch it up. While digging through my t-shirt drawer, I found my favorite bar tee — and it just worked. The yellow font on it was the cherry on top. We danced until we couldn’t anymore, and that’s how I knew the fit did exactly what it needed to do. I wasn’t pulling or adjusting anything all night and could just enjoy myself from start to finish.

At work, I kept my neutrals in rotation as usual…with a pop of color here and there.

One of my favorite moments was styling one of our skirts as a dress and throwing a denim jacket over it — easily the highlight of that week’s outfits.

The weather switched up, so I was heavy on hoodies and sweaters for a bit. But then toward the end of the month, I wore a burgundy and Damson mix dress from H&M as a skirt and layered it with my brown tiger print dress as a top. Best decision ever. It was cold and blah that day, but when I put that sh*t on, I was the light in the building.

Later that week, I kept my promise to my dad and got him to a Commanders game before November. The theme was all black, so we went with it.

I wore my Sean Taylor tee that I grabbed over the summer with some yoga pants since it was cold and rainy. Did we win? No. But my dad and I had the best time tailgating and watching the game together.

Now that this week’s starting — and since I’m working from home tomorrow — I’m planning to go through my closet to see what colors will carry me through the week and my next concert.

See you in the next one.

XOXO, Jonice 💋
