Girl, let me tell you—this summer was one for the books! I finally got back outside, and it did wonders for my soul. After wrapping up my last leg of nurse duty (whew!), I knew I had to make up for lost time. That meant stepping out in some neck breaking looks! Honestly, there were so many I couldn’t possibly show them all, but you know I’m about to give you the tea on my faves.
It all started back in May when I made a quick getaway to Houston. Now, this wasn’t a “let’s explore the city” trip, so I kept it low-key in swimsuits and sweats for the most part. BUT, I did pull out a fit that I’m still obsessing over: a graphic tee paired with a zebra mini skirt. Both pieces have been staples in my closet, but I never thought to put them together.

I tend to make trips as my time to experiment with new combos, and this one was a winner. The way I turned heads for those three seconds I was outside? Immaculate. Even caught myself in a window reflection like, “Okay, girl!”
Fast forward to later in May, and I had two baby cousins graduating from college. So naturally, the older cousins took them to brunch to celebrate. You already know, brunch was a whole vibe! And my outfit? Oh, honey, it ate. I pulled out SOACG’s Patrice maxi skirt—but get this—I wore it as a dress.

Yup, I flipped the script and paired it with chucks and my trusty Coach bag. It was giving effortless chic, and I felt like I owned the day. Best believe I’ll be remixing that skirt all Fall long with layers on layers.
June was all gas, no brakes for me. Between hosting our anniversary pool party, endless work hours, and even catching a concert, my looks stayed on point. Two outfits really stood out though. First, I might’ve been overdressed for brunch (for my work mom’s birthday), but after a few compliments, I knew I was killing it. I rocked the KAI Collective dress as a top and paired it with SOACG’s mini skirt.

Chef’s kiss! And then for Zack Fox’s concert, I went for a more laid-back vibe—a corset and our Jada cargo jeans. Not too much, just enough to serve, and let me tell you, I felt GOOD.
July slowed down a bit, but that didn’t stop me from staying active at the gym. My gym fits were on point with biker shorts and oversized tees, but outside the gym? I had a moment with a Pretty Little Thing dress.

It was one of those days where I wasn’t feeling my best, but the second I slipped into that dress? Instant mood boost. I’m on a mission to find more pieces like that for next summer—and maybe even some Fall-ready looks.
Then came August, and it was all about water, water, and more water! I stayed in swimsuits, and let me tell you—I ATE! No crumbs.

I was giving life poolside, and I have the receipts to prove it. But when we went out to celebrate my homegirl Dani, I made sure that I stepped out one more time. This dress has been sitting and waiting for me to pull her out and I think this was the best day for her. Classy and still showing skin. If I had to be a dress, this is it! It only made sense to end the summer with a bang…and set the tone for the Fall.
