We’ve Been Nominated!!!

I am extremely honored to be nominated for the Sunshine Blogger Award by one of my lovely readers, Heather of The Odd Bee. Out of the three years that I’ve been blogging, this is a first! Am I shocked? Of course. Thrilled? Ummm how could I not be? There are firsts to everything and I hope this won’t be the last.

When I first found out that I was nominated for this award I was kinda confused on what the Sunshine Blogger Award is. I did my research and being nominated is a way for the reader/blogger to shine a light on bloggers all over the world, well known or not. So to keep the light shining here are few of my favorite bloggers:

Here’s what Heather asked me:

1. Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging as a way to get my foot into the fashion industry. I’ve always had a passion for fashion; my love of designing came to a close once I discovered my gift of styling at my former job. It made me happy when clients would be willing to step out their comfort zones, and dance in the mirror once they realized they looked absolutely amazing. I wanted to show off the brands that cater to plus size women and how you can make pieces in your closet pop.

2. What’s one thing you wish you knew as a new blogger?
I wish I knew the importance of lighting and a tripod lol. I tend to look back at my older post and cringe because I didn’t put too much effort into getting the perfect shot. I thank da good Lord for GROWTH!

3. What’s your favorite blog post that you’ve written?
One Skirt, Four Looks

4. Do you keep a blogging schedule?
I sure do, I post every Friday!

5. Do you have a favorite blogger? If so, who and why?
I have plenty lmao I’m going to do my best to keep this list short:
Girl With Curves, Beauticurve, CurvEnvy, The Fashion Bomb Blog, Nadia Aboulhosn, Chante Burkett of EverythingCurvyandChic…ect I’ve been following these ladies before I even started blogging. I look at them as my fashion godmothers.

6. What inspires you?
Trends from the past and current, certain looks I may see on a TV show I’m watching, and friends.

7. When do you feel most creative?
Usually, it’s around 1 am or later when I’m supposed to be KO in bed. Turn on the perfect playlist and I can be up for hours!

8. How do you practice self-care?
I recently got a wonderful 2-in-1 face mask and wash from Bijoux’s Basket that does wonders! While I’m wearing the mask I’m more than likely catching up on blog posts that I’ve missed from fellow bloggers near and far or binge-watching Hawaii Five-0 (I’m currently HOOKED)

9. Do you believe in astrology? If so, what’s your zodiac sign?
I’m trying to understand the whole “sun rising in the tenth house..retrograde” madness. It’s a lot but when it comes to my sign, Pisces, it is right on the nose. Kinda creepy how accurate Co-Star is.

10. What are you most looking forward to in 2019?
Overall growth in my life; SOACG, my relationship with God, networking..the list can go on and on.

11. What is the best thing you’ve purchased so far in 2019?
A ticket to the brunch and day party this weekend. Of course, there will be bottomless mimosas! In the words of my lovely BM, “It’s going to be litty in the city!”
